When you arrive in a new city, the first thing you want to do is to look for accommodation, especially when you’re planning to stay for a while. From my personal experience I have found that it’s a lot easier to look for accommodation when you are already at your destination, because you get a chance to visit and see the places before you accept the rent.

The first two weeks it’s ok to stay in a hotel or hostel, but after a while (depending on your budget) it could get very expensive. While you’re living in a hotel or hostel you can start looking for a room or an apartment to bring down your fixed costs for the rest of your stay.

The last couple of years, Valencia has become a real tourist attraction, especially with the coming of La ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias (the City of Arts and Sciences) which is one of the most visited museums in Europe. Finding a room in Valencia can be done in several ways. The best way to start looking for a room is to buy local newspapers (such as: la segunda mano), place or look for an announcement in our classifieds or go to the university and look for flyers on the message board. If nothing helps, you could always contact a housing agency, but they will charge you for their interferences.
