 | This year the Dansa Valencia festival expands its horizons and transforms into an international and even more popular celebration of the both classical and contemporary dance arts. Considered to be one of Spain’s most significant and important dance festivals, this year there will be various new developments, such as new venues, longer performances and a strong emphasis on the internationalization of the festival.
The opening acts take place at Teatro Rialto, where you can see the top three Valencian dance companies, Proyecto Titoyaya, Otra Danza and Eva Bertomeu Cia, presenting their latest acts, “Lo que no se ve”, “Black” and “3xx” respectively. Although this edition of the festival is dedicated and pays tribute to the Great Russian Ballets and their influence on both classical and modern dance forms, there is something to suit everybody’s interests and taste during the month and a half of performances.
From the 5th of April onwards, Teatro Talia for will offer various shows by Danseta València, aimed at the juvenile audience and the youngest dance lovers. And for the rest, you can enjoy various acts from classical ballet by the Ballet of Monte Carlo to more exotic shows such as “Sherezade”. You’ll have the chance to see very distinctive pieces such as, “1910”, A tribute to the Russian Ballets” and Nijinsky’s original choreography in “Dedication to Spring”, as well as “Beethoven” by The Victor Ullate Ballet among others, all staged at Teatro Principal Valencia.
